04 October 2011 Kingussie High School won the 2011 Wade Cup at the Dell on Tuesday 4 October 2011. Six teams took part in this round-robin U16 competition with Dingwall Acadamy and Inverkeithing High School elimimated ahead of the semi finals. It took a Neil Stewart strike for Kingussie High School to beat Glenurquhart High School in the first semi final. The second semi final was also a close affair and it took extra time goals from Connor Black and Laura Gallacher for Charleston Acadamy to see off Lochaber High School. It was quite a tournament for Laura Gallacher as the Lovat first team manager James Gallacher's daughter scored in every round and except the final where she hot the post. Kingussie High School ran out 2-0 winners in the final with Jack Anderson, son of Kingussie legend Davie Anderson, and Jake MacPherson on target. Tommy Wade presented the trophy to Kingussie captain Rory MacGregor who also played for the Kings' first team last weekend. |
