Lochcarron Manager Andrew MacKenzie Impressed With Skye Forward Display. | |
07 July 2011 Lochcarron first team manager Andrew Mackenzie praised the Skye Camanachd forward line following the Islanders 10-4 Marine Harvest North Division 1 win over Lochcarron at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 2 July 2011. Speaking to the Cuillin FM Saturday Sports Show after the game, MacKenzie said, “Skye took their chances and they had plenty of them. The ball bounced right for Skye but it didn’t bounce for Lochcarron today. We had an unsettled defence from the start and we missed Ross Matheson and Ben Dalgety, who has been absolutely fantastic for us, and of course Angie MacKay has been missing for most of the season.” “Our experienced players fought back today but others sat back and left it for them to do when they should have pushed forward. However that is where we are just now and it is a case of taking young boys into the side and even if we get beat, we’ve just got to do it.” Looking to next weekend, Mackenzie said, “We are at home to Cabers next week and hopefully that will be a different game. We will have a few players back and a lot of our young boys learned a lesson today. We’ll go into that game in a positive mood and try again.” |
