MacVicar Misses Experienced Players For Young Side. | |
06 May 2011 Skye Camanachd second team manager Davie MacVicar highlighted a lack of experience in his young side following their 4-1 Marine Harvest North Division 2 defeat to Newtonmore at the Eilan on Saturday 30 April 2011. MacVicar said, “The average age of the team was 18 and we lack experience. We are really missing in the 26-36 age group and players of this age would really help the younger ones.” Reflecting on the game, MacVicar said, “We knew it would be difficult and Newtonmore had an extra incentive playing at home. We had the wind in the first half but we lost an early goal which set us back a bit. We got level before the break but as has happened too often this season, we lost a goal early in the second half which gave Newtonmore momentum. Our defence has been solid for most of the season but they were a bit hesitant at times on Saturday. We also didn’t get too much from midfield. However I thought Ally MacDonald was excellent for us and he is shaping up to be a good player.” Next for Skye Camanachd is a trip to Kirkton to play Kinlochshiel in the second round of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup. |
