Skye Camanachd’s Martin Bruce & Jordan Murchison Named In Scotland U17 Squad. | |
21 April 2011 Skye Camanachd duo Martin Bruce and Jordan Murchison have been named in the Scotland U17 squad for the Scottish Hydro shinty / hurling trip to Ireland in July 2011. Both players came through the ranks at Portree Primary School where they won the MacKay Cup in 2005. They have had North Division 1 success at U14 level and were part of the 2009 U17 London Shield winning team. After representing the club at second team level, they both broke into Skye Camanachd manager Aonghas MacDonald’s first team squad mid-way through last season and they have remained there ever since. Defender Bruce is due to return from a hand injury sustained in the opening day of the season against Strathglass. Forward Murchison has found the back of the net this season in pre-season friendlies against Scottish Hydro Premier Division opponents Kingussie and Lovat. Other players selected include Lochaber quartet Danny Delaney, Brenan MacDonald, Conor Sweeney and Stuart Callison, Fort William’s Jack Fraser and Glasgow Mid Argyll’s Finlay MacMillan. |
