Poor Start Cost Us Says MacVicar. | |
29 March 2011 Skye Camanachd second team Davie MacVicar blamed his side’s poor start to the game for the 8-1 loss to Kingussie at the Dell in Marine Harvest North Division 2 on Saturday 26 March 2011. “We made a terrible start to the game,” said MacVicar. “It was almost as if we stood back and admired Kingussie’s movement for the opening stage of the match and you just can’t afford to do that at places like the Dell.” “We lost 6 goals in the opening 12 minutes and there was really no way back. We changed things about and Ally MacDonald coming on in defence really helped us. However we put in a much more credible performance in the second half. Indeed one spectator said to me that the game could have finished 8-5, such were the chances we created in the second period.” “We’ll be without defender Neil John Campbell for the meeting with Lochaber in Portree next weekend. He will be out for at least 6 weeks as he is to have an operation on his hand. I’m hoping Scott MacLeod will have shaken off a leg knock and we are looking forward to a good game this weekend.” |
