There were several pre-season friendlies on Saturday 12 February 2011.
Skye Camanachd and Kingussie met in Portree to contest the 2010 Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup. The first 45 minutes were goalless but a goalmouth scramble saw Louis Munro put the Kings ahead after 64 minutes. However Jordan Murchison made it 1-1 just 3 minutes from time when he netted a rebound after Kingussie keeper Andrew Borthwick had stopped a Somhairle MacDonald shot following a good Skye move. It took a penalty shoot-out to separate the teams with Kingussie scorer Louis Munro netting the crucial strike. Skye Camanachd keeper Michael Nicolson was nominated home player man of the match by the Kingussie management team of Steve Borthwick and Russell Jones.
Old rivalries were restored when Glenurquhart and Strathglass met at Blairbeg for the MacDonald Cup. In the end the sides were only separated by a Neale Reid strike as Glenurquhart took the trophy with a 1-0 win.

Lochaber were impressive with Lovat keeper Stuart MacDonald making a great save from Connor Sweeney whilst Ben Delaney missed a penalty. Lochaber keeper Jake Keenan also made some good stops. Lochaber’s Brenan MacDonald made a welcome return after a nasty face injury.
