2010 Skye Camanachd First Team Player of the Year – Somhairle MacDonald | |
10 February 2011 Somhairle MacDonald was named Skye Camanachd First Team Player of the Year for the 2010 shinty season at the club’s Annual Dinner Dance at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse on Saturday 5 February 2011. Somhairle MacDonald was the club’s top performer last season appearing in the forward line as well as a couple of appearances at full centre. He was the club’s to scorer with 16 goals from 19 games. He managed this despite missing a large part of the summer when he was in Canada for a family break. He is a popular member of the team and his skills on the ground made him a valuable member of the Alba side which beat Eirinn in the Cholmcille Shinty / Hurling international in Portree earlier in the year. MacDonald will be the most experienced player in the Skye Camanachd first team for the 2011 shinty season. |
