Lovat Switch For Iain Nicolson. | |
08 February 2011 Iain Nicolson has announced his intention to sign for Scottish Hydro Premier Division side Lovat for the 2011 shinty season. Nicolson told Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald of his decision at the weekend and explained that his work patterns meant that he would be unable to travel to play in Skye matches so he is joining a club nearer home. Skye Camanachd Chairman and first team assistant manager Ross Cowie paid tribute to Nicolson at the club’s Annual Dinner Dance at the weekend and wished him well. Nicolson, who can play in either defence or attack, was a Scotland U21 cap in 2009 and was forced to pull out of the 2010 U21 training squad because on an ankle injury. Ironically, one of his first games for his new side could be the 2011 Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup match between Lovat and Skye Camanachd at Balgate on Saturday 19 February 2011. |
