The Camanachd Association has released details of the new Scottish Hydro Development Fund.
The £5,000 Fund is aimed at supporting sustained development initiatives targeted at increasing youth participation.
Clubs are invited to apply for grants of up to £500 and their application may include costs for the purchase of equipment, training opportunities for coaches, promotional activities and a host of other initiatives.
The Scottish Hydro already sponsors shinty’s top competition, the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup and the top league, the Scottish Hydro Premier Division. Their youth level sponsorship also includes the Scottish Hydro Development Camp and the Scottish Hydro National Development Squad.
Camanachd Association Vice President Donald Stewart said, “Scottish Hydro are excellent partners and we thank them for their continued support of the game at all levels. We welcome this additional investment in youth development and the exciting opportunity it provides for the clubs.”
Jonny Petrie, Brand, Sponsorship and Community Manager at Scottish Hydro said: “Scottish Hydro is delighted to increase its support of shinty across Scotland. In partnership with the Camanachd Association we are working hard to develop emerging talent and increase player participation. We hope the Scottish Hydro Development Fund will play a large part in supporting shinty for the foreseeable future.”
