Camanachd Association Look To Form Development Competition. | |
08 December 2010 The Camanachd Association is currently consulting interested clubs on a draft proposal to hold a Development Competition in 2011. The draft proposal seeks to increase the playing opportunities for players who are unable to participate in regular games at the moment. The development level is aimed at newly established clubs who may not be able to fulfill the commitment of participating in a full league programme. It may also benefit some larger clubs who have an abundance of players but who cannot provide playing opportunities for them all. Clubs in both the North and the South are being consulted on a proposal which would see the participating clubs meet four times each season at a central location within their respective regional leagues – one in the North and one in the South. The competition will also assist referee development. The consultation is being led by Camanachd Association National Development Officer, Ronald Ross, and the outcome should be known early in the new year. |
