Kingussie and Scotland forward Ronald Ross has won the 2010 Sunday Mail Amateur Sports award.
Ronald Ross was presented with the award by Miss Scotland at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow on Thursday 2 December 2010.
Ross, who is currently recovering from injury, won the Co-operative MacTavish Cup and Artemis Macaulay Cup with Kingussie in 2010. His side also finished runners-up in the prestigious Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup.
Ross was short-listed for the Sunday Mail Amateur Sports award in 2008 and 2009 and this year’s success has proved to be third time lucky.
Aberdeen golfer David Law won the category in 2009 with another golfer, Callum MacAulay, successful the year before.
The 2011 event was a star-studded affair. European Ryder Cup winning captain Colin Montgomery was named coach of the year whilst former Celtic and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish received a Lifetime Achievement award. Boxer Ricky Burns was named Sports Personality of the Year.
Ronald Ross will captain Kingussie in the 2011 shinty season.
