Camanachd Association Announces Co-operative MacTavish Cup Sponsorship Extension. | |
25 November 2010 The Camanachd Association has announced that the Co-operative has agreed to sponsor the MacTavish Cup in 2011 and 2012. The five figure sponsorship deal will see the competition named the Co-operative MacTavish Cup for the 2011 and 2012 shinty season. The Co-operative’s Head of Sponsorship Liz Matkin said, “Shinty, played at grassroots level at the heart of communities across Scotland, fits with the Co-operative’s community values. We have a significant presence in Scotland, particularly in areas where support for and participation in shinty is strong, and we are delighted to continue our successful partnership with the sport.” The Co-operative also sponsored the 2010 MacTavish Cup Final between Kingussie and Kilmallie which was televised live on BBC2 Scotland. They were also one of the sponsors for the 2010 Shinty / Hurling internationals. Camanachd Association Vice President and Director of Communications Donald Stewart was delighted with the new partner. He said, “We are really pleased The Co-operative has agreed to continue its sponsorship. Having the support of such a major retailer is a great boost to the sport and to the MacTavish Cup in particular, and we look forward to seeing the partnership develop.” |
