Scotland Head Coach McNeil To Discuss Future With Camanachd Association. | |
16 November 2010 Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeil will take time to discuss his own future and that of the Shinty / Hurling scene following the narrow defeat to Ireland in the Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling series. In the aftermath of the game, McNeil said, “The coaching staff in time will all individually decide their position, but I hope they have all enjoyed the experience. However we do ask an awful lot of the coaches (and the players) so time will tell.” “Personally I don’t feel I attained the standards that I aspire to so I will be having a discussion with Graham Cormack surrounding that. We’ll also discuss the whole Shinty v Hurling scene and how we use these matches to improve the standard of play within shinty, enhance shinty and raise our profile on the sporting road map.” Scotland were 22-21 victors at Croke Park, Dublin on 30 October 2010 which gave them a 3-1 lead in the series. The Scot’s earned 2 points for the win with both sides gaining an extra point for scoring 2 goals or more. Ireland were 21-16 winners at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 13 November 2010. This gave the Irish a 3-1 triumph as they earned 2 points for the win with both sides gaining an extra point for scoring 2 goals or more. This squared the match at 4-4 but Ireland won the 2010 Marine Harvest Quaich thanks to their 42-38 aggregate score. |
