Scotland & Ireland Go For Goals At The Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International! | |
12 November 2010 Both Scotland and Ireland are guaranteed to go for goals in the Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 13 November 2010. As Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeill explained to www.skyecamanachd.com earlier in the week, the scoring system is 2 points for a win, whilst a draw is 1 point and there are no points awarded for a defeat. Also, if a team scores 2 or more goals during the game, they are awarded an additional point. This means Scotland take a 3-1 lead into the second test as they won the game at Croke Park and picked up a additional bonus point for the goals scored by and Gary Innes and Finlay MacRae. Ireland collect a point courtesy of a Shane Dooley double. Should Scotland score 2 goals at the Bught Park, their bonus point would take them onto 4 points and mean that the worst they could do is draw the series. Ireland would need to win the game and score 2 goals to level the series at 4-4. In the event of the series score finishing level at 3-3 or 4-4, the destination of the Marine Harvest Quaich will be decided by the aggregated scores from the 2 games with Scotland currently 22-21 ahead. The Scotland v Ireland International will not be shown on television so the only way to see the action is to come along to the game! Tickets for the match are priced £10 for adults and £5 for concessions with under 12s admitted entry free of charge. The Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International between Scotland and Ireland at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 13 November 2010 starts at 2pm and will be refereed by Deek Cameron. There will also be a Shinty / Camogie clash between the Scotland Shinty Squad and the Scottish Universities Camogie Squad which starts at 12 noon. |
