Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International Scoring System. | |
09 November 2010 The Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International between Scotland and Ireland at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 13 November 2010 will be decided by an agreed scoring system. Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeil explained, “A win constitutes 2 points whilst a draw is 1 point and you get no points for a defeat. Also, if a team scores 2 or more goals during the game, they are awarded an additional point.” McNeill added, “This means that the score from the first test is Scotland 3 points (2 points for the win plus an additional point for the 2 goals scored) whilst Ireland have 1 point for the 2 goals they scored - giving a current score of Scotland 3 Ireland 1.” “In the event of the series ending 4 v 4, then, as I understand it, the actual aggregate score will come into play.” McNeil joked, “I have always planned to win both games and score more than 2 goals so let’s hope the series score ends up Scotland 6 v Ireland 1! The Scotland v Ireland International will not be shown on television so the only way to see the action is to come along to the game! Tickets for the match are priced £10 for adults and £5 for concessions with under 12s admitted entry free of charge. The Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International between Scotland and Ireland at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 13 November 2010 starts at 2pm and will be refereed by Deek Cameron.
