26 October 2010 Ireland have named their Camogie / Shinty Panel for the international against Scotland at Ratoath on Saturday 30 October 2010. There are 10 Ulster camogie players in the squad and 2010 Gala All Ireland Junior B Champions Monaghan are rewarded with the inclusion of Róisín McKenna and Isabel Kiernan. Runners-up Cavan have Bríd Boylan, Róisín O' Keefe and Rosie Crowe included. Division Four National League champions Tyrone are represented by Shauna Jordan and Aisling Corr, whilst Armagh have 2010 Soaring Star recipient and captain Bernie Murray along with team mates Laura Gribben and Colette McSorley amongst the ranks. This year's Gala All Ireland Junior A champions Kildare have 2010 Soaring Star recipient Regina Gorman and team mates Niamh Breen and Susie O'Carroll all included while Clodagh Byrne (Carlow), Áine Charlton (Mayo), Claire Coffey (Meath) Jemma Egan, Pamela Greville (Westmeath) Bronagh McLernon and Brid Grennan (London) complete the panel Kildare’s Tom O'Mahony, who managed his side to this year's All Ireland success, is a selector and Louth's Mary Connor and Paul Ward (Monaghan) are the other selectors. The Irish Camogie / Shinty Internationals began in 2004 which was the Centenary Year of the Camogie Association. Ireland won the Camogie / Shinty title in 2004 / 2005 while Scotland recorded a hat-trick of titles in 2006 / 2007 and 2008 before Ireland reclaimed the crown in Inverness in 2009. The Ireland v Scotland 2010 Irish Camogie / Shinty International takes place on Saturday 30 October in Ratoath. The game starts at 11.30am and Una Kearney from Armagh is the match referee. |
