MacVicar Pleased With Point. | |
28 September 2010 Skye Camanachd second team manager Davie MacVicar was pleased with a point from his side’s 2-2 draw with Kingussie in their final Marine Harvest North Division 2 fixture at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 25 September 2010. MacVicar was particularly pleased with some of his younger players. “I though 13 year old Will Cowie did very well in what was his first full game in the side. Scott MacLeod is also looking really good in defence and he has established himself in the side in recent weeks. I was also pleased with Calum Gibb who came on as a substitute and didn’t look out of place in defence. He has missed games because of work commitments so it was good to see him take his chance today.” “A draw was probably a fair result,” said MacVicar. “It rounds off a season in which we picked up 3 more points than last year. We conceded fewer goals conceded - 53 against 60 - but also scored fewer goals - 34 against 40. Of the 6 teams above us in the league, we took points off all of them apart from Glengarry and enjoyed wins over leaders Glenurquhart and third placed Newtonmore.” |
