“It Felt Like A Win.” Says Skye Manager. | |
01 August 2010 Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald was a pleased man following his side’s 2-2 Marine Harvest North Division 1 draw with Kilmallie at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 31 July 2010. A last minute Kenny Campbell penalty gave Skye a share of the points and MacDonald said, “I would have taken a point before the game and the way the match finished, it felt like a win. We had so many players missing but I can’t fault the players’ effort. I was really pleased with Andrew Banks in defence. It was just his second start for the team and he would have put his teeth on the line for us today. Neil MacVicar came into the midfield after representing the Scotland U17 side in Ireland during the week and he also did well against more experienced opponents.” “It was a hard, battling performance which won us the point. We have put together a solid defensive unit and our forwards looked dangerous every time they were in possession.” “We should have a few players back for the Inverness game next week but the way the guys performed today means that I have real selection options which is nice.” Next up for Skye is another home match against Inverness at Pairc nan Laoch on Saturday 7 August 2010. Throw up is at 12pm. |
