Skye Management Team Delighted With Performance And Win. | |
27 June 2010 With Skye Camanachd second team manager Davie MacVicar unavailable at the weekend, the stand-in management team of Alasdair Bruce and Willie MacRae were delighted with the win and performance in the 5-2 derby victory over Kinlochshiel in Marine Harvest North Division 2 at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 26 June 2010. “We were delighted with how the team played today,” said Bruce, “and the win gave us a priceless 2 points which takes us off the bottom of the table.” “We were at full strength today with the exception of our captain David Grant who was unavailable. The forward line worked really hard and having Aonghas in there gave us an added dimension. Danny Morrison took the opening goal really well and we looked dangerous every time we attacked.” Bruce also paid tribute to the Skye midfield. “I thought we controlled the midfield for large periods of the game. Darryl MacIntosh was immense at full centre and he was very well supported by wing centres Neil MacVicar and Stewart Grant. They had to work so hard because Shiel are a very good side and they continued to fight until the final whistle.” “It just shows you what a good second team we have when all our players are available but I suppose we have to deal with our injuries like everyone else,” added Bruce. Bruce also paid tribute to opponents Kinlochshiel, “I felt they were always in the game and they never let up. Shiel have a young first team and they had several other good youngsters such as Donald Nixon, David Falconer, Duncan “Ach” MacRae and Jordan Fraser on show today.” |
