Skye Camanachd U14 B Come Out On Top Against Uist. | |
27 June 2010 The Skye Camanachd U14 B came out on top in their Development League match against Uist at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 26 June 2010. Skye beat an understrength Uist side in the game. The 2 teams then mixed players and had another match before the Uist side had to catch their bus and head for their return ferry journey. Frazel Froughie, Fraser Ballantyne and keeper Owen Vasey all showed up well for Uist who were without Fergus MacVicar and Craig Erskine and they especially missed the influential Calum Ferguson who was on a family trip to the Royal Highland Show. Caitlin MacLean played well in her U14 debut and showed that she will be a real asset to the Portree High School girls team next term where she will join Lorna MacRae who was also impressive against Uist. It was also good to see Andrew Grant back playing U14 shinty. This was the first game in this year’s competition for both sides with Inverness having withdrawn from the event. The match was well refereed by Skye Camanachd U17 and second team player Jordan Murchison.
