| Shiel Management Team Delighted With Hard Fought Win. | |
| 21 June 2010 The Kinlochshiel management team of Keith Loades and Johnston Gill were delighted with what they described as a “hard fought” Balliemore Cup semi final win over Skye Camanachd at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 19 June 2010. Speaking just after the final whistle, Keith Loades said, “It was a good, hard game and we expected that. We said to the players before the match that it would be hard. We flew into a 3-0 lead here a couple of weeks ago - but even then Skye were still in the game - and we knew that wouldn’t happen a second time. There was a lot of good skills and hard effort on show and both sides had chances, even during the goalless first half.” Reflecting on his team’s performance, Loades said, “I thought our defenders did really well today. At this time off year, surfaces are hard and the ball can fly off the ground at pace but they coped admirably and I’m pleased with them.” On his opponents, Loades had this to say, “Skye keeper Jamie Gannon had a couple of tremendous saves this afternoon and you can see why he was part of the Scotland international set up last season.” Kinlochshiel now have a Balliemore Cup Final against the winners of the second semi final between Lochaber and Kilmallie to look forward to next month. | |
