There was a fantastic festival of shinty at Mossfield Park, Oban where the Artemis sponsored MacAulay Association Sixes for Primary Schools took place on Saturday 12 June 2010.
Over 320 players from 41 schools across the country contested 3 trophies.
Oban side St Columba’s defeated an impressive Kingussie side coached by Davie Anderson, 3-0 in the final to lift the Ian Cummings Memorial Trophy (P7 and under).
However the Kingussie second string, The Boys of the Dell ensured some success for the Badenoch area when they beat Oban side Rockfield to win the Alastair Campbell Shield (P5 and under).
A strong Teanassie side from Cannich overcame the challenge of a plucky Glengarry side to win the Peter English Trophy for small schools.
The Lochcarron Quaich for the best girl player of the tournament went to Zoe Smith of Banavie.
The Hector Campbell Trophy for the best boy player of the tournament went to Kingussie’s Ruairidh Anderson.
