Lewis Camanachd Praise Skye Referee. | |
02 May 2010 Lewis Camanachd have thanked referee John MacLeod for donating his match fee and expenses towards their costs for fulfilling their Strathdearn Cup first round tie against Skye Camanachd.
“It’s a fantastic gesture from John,” said Lewis Camanachd’s Eoghan Stewart. “We had players traveling from Lewis and Glasgow for the game so this is a big help and we pass o our thanks to him. He also refereed the game very well incidentally.”
“The players enjoyed the occasion enormously. We just wish Skye Camanachd had been as hospitable on the field of play as they were off it! We were given such a warm welcome by everyone but I’m afraid we were given a bit of a lesson during the game. Still, we are looking forward to Skye coming out to play us in Lewis in a friendly match later in the season. That will be one to look forward to.” |
