| Have Glenurquhart Set Top Division Age Record? | |
| 25 April 2010 Glenurquhart may well have set the record for fielding the oldest player in shinty’s top division in their match against Kingussie at the Dell on Saturday 24 April 2010.
With around 12 minutes remaining, Glenurquhart keeper Stuart MacKintosh had to leave the field to get to a gig booking with his band later that evening.
On in his place between the sticks came Glenurquhart player / manager and Camanachd Association Director Jim Barr who best estimates on Skye place at the ripe old age of 57 years old.
Barr’s side were 4-0 down when he came on and he did very well although he lost a goal to Ronald Ross in the last minute. | |
