MacDonald More Pleased With Win Than Performance. | |
18 April 2010 Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald was pleased to have secured the points in his side’s 3-1 win over Strathglass on Saturday 17 April 2010.
It took 2 goals from Ian Nicolson in the last 6 minutes to win the points.
“It was a good result and we got there in the end. I don’t think we played as well as we can but I’m happy to win and to take 2 points.” said MacDonald, “I thought it was an even first half and their forwards certainly caused us problems. However we had the wind in the second half and created several chances.”
Strathglass were reduced to 11 men midway through the second half and MacDonald agrees that this was a turning point. “When they had a man sent off, we were able to push Iain Nicolson further forward. He’s been playing well in defence but he also has an eye for goal and he took his chances well.”
Perhaps an indication as to how MacDonald felt his side played can be taken from the fact that he kept them in the changing rooms for 15 minutes after the game to go over the 90 minutes.
MacDonald now looks forward to a Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup meeting with Ballachulish at Pair nan Laoch. “Ballachulish are mid table in Marine Harvest South Division 1 and we haven’t played them for a few years now. They beat Kilmory the week before we beat them and I know we’ll be in for a difficult game. We will be without Steven Morrison which is a blow but I hope Jamie MacDonald’s hamstring problem will have eased.” |
