The Portree High School Girls Shinty team has found a qualified minibus driver to help take them to their WCA School's League Competition in Ballachulish, hosted by Kinlochleven High School, this Friday 26 March 2010.
Staffing implications at the High School meant only one teacher could be released on the final day of term to accompany the team and coach Eoghan Stewart did not possess a suitable license for driving a minibus. However, kind parent Linda MacKinnon of Kilmuir, whose daughter Jennifer plays for the High School and son Sean is involved in the Skye Camanachd U14 setup, has kindly offered her free time to ensure the girls get this rare competitive opportunity.
Leaving Portree High School at 8.45am on Friday, the competition begins at 1pm and the bus should return to Portree for 8pm.
The Portree Girls came second in the first competition of the year hosted in Portree but were unable to attend the second round of fixtures in Ardnamurchan due to a snap HMIe inspection.
They also were unfortunate to lose on golden goal to Plockton High School in the Cuach Sgàthaich.
Portree Squad from: Katie MacDonald (captain), Nicola MacSween, Ilana Paterson, Jenny Morrison, Emma Nicolson, Lorna MacRae, Rosalind Lamond, Helen Lamond, Jennifer MacKinnon, Sophie Tinney, Rebecca MacDonald
