Scots Win University Shinty / Hurling Clash - UPDATED. | |
30 January 2010 The Scottish University side triumphed over the British Hurlers in the shinty / hurling international on Saturday 30 January 2010.
The heavy snow meant that the match was switched from the Balgownie Playing Fields in Aberdeen to Dawson Park, Dundee.
Just one match was played as the Scotland University shinty players took on the British Hurlers. The Scots eventually ran out 27-3 winners with Skye Camanachd’s Alan Palmer making a major contribution with 6 points.
Kyles's Grant Irvine was top scorer with 13 points. Both James Livingston of Glenorchy and Andrew Mathie of Glasgow Mid Argyll notched 3 points each whilst Caberfeidh's Donald MacDonald scored a double.
