Camanachd Association Seek Two New Directors. | |
03 January 2010 The Camanachd Association is inviting nominations from members for two Directors Posts and they are particularly interested in securing a Director from shinty’s west coast. Each Director will be a member of the Camanachd Association Board will have collective responsibility for the strategic direction of the Association and the development of shinty. In addition, individual Directors will have a responsibility for policy formulation of an aspect of shinty, set in the Association’s strategic framework, by chairing a committee of 4 / 5 people, supported by professional staff. Board meetings occur 4 / 5 per year and committees 3 / 4 times over the same period. Meetings are held in locations and at times convenient for members. The Board is anxious to encourage people with energy, ideas and experience of the management of shinty at grassroots level to come forward and join the Board at an exciting time in the development of shinty. Ideally the Board would like to see a broad geographical representation from across the country and would encourage clubs in areas, which are not represented to give serious thought to nominating a suitable candidate. Glasgow and Lochaber already have 2 Directors, whilst Further details of the process of becoming a Director can be had from Bruce Crawford - telephone 01463 715931. |
