Skye fielded Duncan MacDougall at full forward and this move immediately paid off when he opened the scoring when he shot past Billy MacLeod midway through the first half. Skye took this advantage into the half time break but if the truth be known, they should have put the tie out of sight by then. Skye put the result beyond doubt when they made it 3-1 a minute later. The move started when Willie MacRae battled to win possession on the Skye left and then went on to beat 3 players before playing in Calum Murchison. Murchison found Duncan MacDougall who spread the ball out to Andy MacLean on the Skye right. MacLean spotted Calum Murchison in space and the Skye player / manager fired the ball low into the net. Skye were in full flow at this stage but they were unable to add to their lead. Glenurquhart enjoyed some pressure late in the game and Skye keeper Ian “Dowel” MacLeod was forced to palm one effort away for a corner. Skye’s Calum Murchison was booked for a challenge in the closing minutes as tempers flared. Skye Camanachd now faced a meeting with the winners from the first round tie between |
