The 2010 Lovat Cup match between Lovat and Beauly on Saturday 2 January 2010 has been switched to Braeview Park, Beauly.

A pitch inspection at Balgate on Wednesday 30 December 2009 deemed that it would not be practicable to try and clear the heavy snow from the playing surface due to the enclosed nature of the field and barriers surrounding it.

Although the game has been switched to Braeview Park, Beauly, a covering of heavy snow also requires to be moved from this pitch. However it will be slightly easier to undertake this exercise on Beauly’s pitch as there is more open space to operate the JCB and resite the removed snow.

This exercise will commence on Thursday 31 December 2009 a decision will be made on whether the game can go ahead thereafter. The danger is that when the snow is removed, the pitch underneath is found to be frozen solid.
