Skye Camanachd’s pre season plans are taking shape ahead of the 2010 shinty season.

Tuesday night training is ongoing on the all-weather pitch at Portree High School with a 7pm start.

Training for the players based in Glasgow will start in the New Year – details to be announced.

Davie MacVicar’s Skye Camanachd second team will host Marine Harvest South Division 1 side Aberdour at Pairc nan Laoch on Saturday 30 January 2010.

The 2010 Ewen Morrison Memorial Cup match between North Skye and South Skye takes place at Pairc nan Laoch on Saturday 6 February 2010. This precedes the Skye Camanachd Annual Dinner Dance which takes place in the evening.

Several Skye Camanachd players are involved in the shinty / hurling Iomain Cholmcille a Trì between Scotland and Ireland which takes place at Pairc nan Laoch on Saturday 13 February 2010.

Aonghas MacDonald’s Skye Camanachd first team travels to Glasgow to play Scottish Hydro National Premier Division newcomers Glasgow Mid Argyll on Saturday 20 February 2010. This match will be for the 2009 Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup which was postponed earlier in the year.

Saturday 27 February 2010 sees Scottish Hydro National Premier Division champions Kingussie visit Portree to contest the 2010 Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup.

The Skye Camanachd second team will probably arrange another fixture before the season starts.

The shinty season proper commences on Saturday 6 March 2010.
