Memory Lane – Season 1986 / 87 – Part 6. | |
29 November 2009 Skye Camanachd second team manager Archie MacDonald made several changes to his side following their heavy defeat to Glenurquhart at Drumnadrochit the previous week. He most notably moved Donnie Martin to full back and John MacRae to buckshee back which certainly strengthened the Skye defence for the visit of Kilmallie to the Colombo Nicolson in the Skye goal made a great double save in the opening minute to keep the game goalless and at the other end; Angie Murchison had the ball in the net after 3 minutes only to see his effort ruled out for offside. However Skye were not to be denied and after 6 minutes a low, crisp drive from Ally MacInnes from the edge of the box gave his side a 1-0 lead. Bodach MacKenzie doubled Skye’s advantage and made it 2-0 on 19 minutes when the buckshee forward found the back of the net from 20 yards. Skye continued to press the Kilmallie goal for the remainder of the game but the visiting defence held on and there was no further scoring. Skye had a trip to Beauly to look forward to in their next league outing. |
