Kilmallie Coach Reflects on Close Title Race. | |
13 November 2009 Kilmallie finished second a point behind Lovat, with Skye Camanachd a further point behind in third place. Speaking to the Lochaber News, Morrison said, “It was a very close race this season between three teams. Ourselves and Skye maybe paid the price for just one or two bad results, while Lovat held their nerve when it mattered most and crossed the line. Fair play to Lovat, because they went straight back up to the Premier League after coming down and they deserved to win it. Looking ahead Morrison said, "The management team of myself, Lachie Innes and Peter Jackson, have our own ideas about next season. If we can keep as many of these players together then we will have a chance. It also, of course, comes down to the what the committee thinks is the way forward for next season. The club committee has a meeting in January, although you normally find out ahead of then if there is to be a change. A lot of what happens also comes down to what the players think. We certainly got the commitment from them last season. The current management team are certainly prepared to have a real go next year, having come so close this time around. It also depends one who comes down (with Glenorchy) from the Premier League. If Lochaber, for example, come down it would make the task of winning it doubly difficult." |
