Portree High School sent 2 teams to take part in the S1 Plockton sixes on Wednesday.
The competition started in 200 as a millennium tournament and Portree High School were previous winners in 2005 and 2006.
There were 15 teams in Total with Ardnamurchan High School, Charleston Academy, Dingwall Academy, Glenurquhart High School, Inverness High School, Kingussie High School, Lochaber High School, Kinlochbervie High School, Plockton High School, and Portree High School. Portree, Plockton and Lochaber were amongst the schools who also entered a B team.
The Portree High School A team travelled with only 6 players as Kyle Pirie had flu which meant that they had no substitutes. Will Cowie was also suffering flu symptoms although he battled on.
The Portree B side performed well in the league section and the A team made it all the way through to the final against Lochaber High School. The final only lasted 6 minutes which allowed little time for the Islanders to recover after they went a goal down and they were unlucky to lose 1-0.
