The North came out on top in the Womens Senior Representative match in Stirling on Sunday 11 October 2009.
Both sides created several chances in the first half but the game remained goalless although the South came closest to scoring when they hit the post.
The South took the lead through Tir Conaill Harps' Marian Holohan in the second half but the North, prompted by a great second half display from Skye’s Sarah Corrigal, took a grip of the game and a goal from Badenoch & Strathspey's Jeanette McGregor gave the North the lead.
Lyndsay Michie of Glengarry made it 2-1 and a strike from Lochaber's Laura MacIntyre clinched a 3-1 victory.
The North were not at full strength but the players who were called into the side did the team proud. They deserved their win as they took the trophy back North for only the third time in ten contests.
Forth’s Katy Smith was particularly impressive for the South.
