The Skye Camanachd A 14 side continued their unbeaten league run with an 8-0 win over Newtonmore at the Eilan on Friday 25 September 2009.
After the disappointment of the MacMaster defeat to Fort William the Skye youngsters came bouncing back with an excellent away win against Newtonmore.
Newtonmore had some good opportunities in the first half but Skye looked sharp in front of goal and led 4-0 at the interval. There were 2 excellent goals from Jordan Murchison who was linking up well with Will Cowie. Angie Grant, making his first start in the A Team for a while, also scored a couple, one of which was a cracking goal from all of 30 yards.
Jordan Murchison, who was carrying a knock, rifled home his third before being substituted by Andrew Grant.
Grant also made an impression by scoring Skye's 6th and 7th goals with tidy finishes. Will Cowie finished the scoring with Skye's last goal which was just reward for his contribution to the match.
Skye were solid at the back where both Magnus Burd and Chris MacLennan were effective in their roles. Calum Gibb worked well in the midfield area and the forwards played nice shinty and finished well.
