04 October 2009 Skye Camanachd A U14 continued their unbeaten run with a 10-1 win over Lovat at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 3 October 2009. Skye have already beaten Lovat twice this season at Balgate and this was their first meeting in Portree. Both sides took time to become adjusted to playing on the all-weather surface. However the facility at The visitors, who were without a couple of their regular players, actually took the lead with strike after 15 minutes from Rory Gallagher. The home side levelled a couple of minutes later when Jordan Murchison found space to blast the ball into the roof of the net. Skye took the lead when a shot from captain Jordan Murchison was well saved by Lovat keeper Andrew Wallace, but Skye full forward Stewart MacSween reacted first to give Skye a 2-1 lead. Jordan Murchison notched his second on 38 minutes when he netted from a goal mouth scramble and Stewart MacSween also fired a second when he again reacted first to a rebound to give the home side a 4-1 half time lead. Skye started the second half in determined fashion and Jordan Murchison completed his hat-trick minutes into the second period when he slammed the ball home from a corner to stretch the score to 5-1. Willie Cowie made it 6-1 when he tucked home a rebound after Lovat keeper Andrew Wallace had made an excellent save. Skye extended their advantage 15 minutes into the second period when Willie Cowie sent a delightful cross into the box and Angie Grant found the back of the net. Jordan Murchison made it 8-1 a couple of minutes later. Stewart MacSween had the ball in the net but the goal was ruled out for offside. Murchison scored a late double to confirm a 10-1 final score. Skye could even afford tom miss a late penalty when Will Cowie’s well hit effort was saved by Andrew Wallace, low to his right. The young Lovat side were well served by keeper Andrew Wallace, who made several fine saves, and Michael MacKenzie in defence. Jordan Murchison was in deadly form for a Skye side who played within themselves and continue their unbeaten run in the league.
