Skye Camanachd Injury Latest. | |
29 September 2009 Skye Camanachd suffered a series of injury blows last weekend. The first team suffered injuries to forwards Alan Palmer and Allan MacKinnon as well as a knock to full centre Gilleasbuig MacDonald. Alan Palmer suffered a nasty blow to the arm at the Joe Toal sixes and he will likely miss the Marine Harvest North Division 1 match against Lovat this weekend. Allan MacKinnon ended up in Raigmore having a pin inserted to a broken thumb picked up at the same event. Full centre Gilleasbuig MacDonald suffered a head cut in the The second team defeat at Kilmallie also saw the Islanders lose a couple of players with injuries to defenders Martin Bruce and Jamie Nicolson. Buckshee back Martin Bruce required 15 stitches following an accidental blow to the face. There’s no doubt that Bruce’s visor saved him from a more serious injury but the tip of his opponents stick came through the gap at the bottom of the visor and left a nasty gash just above his chin. Bruce also suffered a broken tooth and will be out of action for a few weeks. Fellow defender Jamie Nicolson also ended up in the Belford hospital with a dislocated thumb which may also have associated ligament damage. Nicolson also faces a period on the sidelines. |
