The Isle of Skye Primary Schools Association held a very successful Ceilidh on Saturday 12 September 2009 as part of their 20 years celebrations.

The event MC was Association Chairman John Finlayson and he introduced pipe tune winners John Gillies and Rona Nicolson to play for the large audience. He also thanked all who had been involved in a very successful Association over the 20 year period, especially secretary Una MacLennan who had been an office bearer throughout that time as well as being Bracadale coach. 

There was an excellent Shinty Drama performance by pupils from Portree Primary School whilst pupils from Kyleakin and Sleat combined to give an excellent rendition of the shinty song Iomain an Eilean.

Before the buffet and drinks, Portree Primary School pupils and audience participation together ensured a rousing rendition of Run Rig’s Clash of the Ash.

Biorachan Beag provided the music and there were some welcome guest performers throughout the evening too.
