The California Chronicle Day – 9: Tuesday 1 September 2009. | |
10 September 2009 Skye Camanachd’s Cuairt gu Bruce is as good as his word and picks the lads up bright and breezy, still keeping mum about the exact destination. As they draw into the airport, don a parachute harness, and get into Bruce’s plane, the penny drops and they begin to realize what they are in for. Before they make the jump, AB takes a wee shot at the controls and promptly breaks them with an over-zealous attempt at a turn. At 13, 000 feet, the plane levels off and the brave boys leap out of the plane coupled to their instructors for a dual-jump. They freefall for 55 seconds at 90mph before opening the chutes and landing gracefully bang on the X. An experience of a lifetime! In the evening, we join the NCCC players for a practice ‘scrimmage’ as it is called here. |
