Plans to celebrate the Isle of Skye Primary Schools Camanachd Association 20^th Anniversary are at an advanced stage.

The celebrations begin on Thursday 10 September 2009 as an exhibition showing some of the highlights from the last 20 years is launched at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse, Pair nan Laoch, Portree. The Highland Council’s Dualchas Team has been of great assistance in putting together the exhibition and everyone is invited to attend.

A Primary School 6s competition will take place on Friday 11 September 2009 and there will hopefully be participants from teams based outwith Skye. There will be a Homecoming shinty match between Skye Camanachd’s 1990 Camanachd Cup winning team and a team of former players who have played in Isle of Skye Primary Schools Camanachd Association competitions but are now based away from Skye. This will also take place on Friday 11 September 2009.

Saturday 12 September 2009 will feature a primary school shinty match in the morning. There will be a vital Marine Harvest North Division 1 west coast derby between Skye Camanachd and Lochcarron for the crowd to enjoy in the afternoon. There will also be an invitation reception in the evening to acknowledge the work of the Association coaches and committee members. There will also be a shinty play featuring pupils from Portree Primary School and plenty of song and music.
