| 17 July 2009 The Wester Ross and Inverness-shire trials for the Scotland U21 shinty / hurling trials took place at Balgate on The trials, under the watchful eyes of Scotland U21 Head Coach Donnie Martin and his assistants Ted MacDonald and Dave Stafford and was a very successful event with 31 players taking part.
