Kilmallie Manager Morrison Reflects on Skye Win. | |
10 July 2009 Kilmallie manager John Morrison felt that winning the toss was a contributory factor in his sides 4-0 Marine Harvest North Division 1 win over Skye Camanachd in Portree on Saturday 4 July 2009. Speaking in this week’s Lochaber News, Morrison said "We won the toss and had the advantage of the strong wind. It meant we were able to put Skye under pressure and it was hard for them to clear the pressure. The result does mean matters are in our own hands, but in reality, about 5 or 6 teams will feel they have a chance. Although Skye are top and have done well, they could soon be running out of games. Every week, you see teams who have been on a good run slip up, so it's hard to tell who is going to come through." The win meant that Kilmallie closed the gap on leaders Skye to 5 points and the Canal Parks side has 4 games in hand. Kilmallie do not have a match on Saturday 11 July 2009 but they return to league duty on Saturday 18 July 2009 when they entertain Caberfeidh. Cabers currently sit 2 points behind Kilmallie in the table. However the Castle Leod side could draw level on points with Kilmallie should they beat bottom club Lochcarron at home on Saturday 11 July 2009 although they will have played 2 matches more. |
