02 July 2009 There is another full shinty programme on Saturday 4 July 2009. The MacPhee & Partners MacAulay Cup takes centre stage with Inveraray and Kyles Athletic doing battle in a first round tie at Winterton. The second round ties see a local derby between Lochaber and Glenurquhart travel to the Dell to take on the free-scoring Kingussie. The Glen will be without the suspended Lewis MacLennan whilst Kingussie will miss the injured Ally Borthwick. Oban Camanachd travel to Dalmally to take on the league’s bottom side Glenorchy. Oban Camanachd will be without the suspended Liam MacIntyre but they should still be too strong for their Dalmally based opponents. There is just one match in the Scottish Hydro National Premier Division as Newtonmore have the chance to make some ground on their title rivals when they cross the water to The game of the day in Marine Harvest North Division 1 will be in Portree when Skye Camanachd host Kilmallie. The Second placed Beauly are in good league form, having won their last 3 league matches. They host Caberfeidh at Lochcarron will look for their first league win of the season when they travel to Cannich to play Strathglass. The sides have already met at Battery Park when a last minute strike from player / manager Garry Reid sealed the points for Strath by the odd goal in 5. Kinlochshiel and Lovat meet at Kirkton. Both sides lost last weekend and will be keen to return to winning ways. The game of the day in Marine Harvest South Division 1 leaders Lochside Rovers travel to play second placed Kilmory. Lochside won by the odd goal in 5 when the sides met in Oban earlier in the season. Fourth plays third as Ballachulish host Glasgow Mid Argyll. Bottom club Tayforth welcomes Oban Celtic to The final Bullough Cup quarter final tie takes places as Marine Harvest South Division 2 side Kyles Athletic play Marine Harvest South Division 1 Inveraray at Tigh na Bruach. Marine Harvest North Division 2 leaders Glenurquhart make the short trip to Invergarry to play a Glengarry side who will be boosted after last weekend 5-0 win over Lovat. The sides drew at Drumnadrochit earlier in the season which is the only point the Glen have dropped in the league prior to last week’s draw with Fort William. Skye Camanachd travel to Balgate to play Lovat, knowing that they have lost twice to their opponents in Portree already this season. This match throws up at the slightly earlier time of 2pm. Caberfeidh and Kinlochshiel both won their first points of the season last weekend and this week they face each other at Castle Leod. Kingussie take on Kilmallie at the Dell. This match also has a 12 noon throw up. Kilmallie won 3-0 at Canal Parks when the sides met earlier in the season. Marine Harvest South Division 2 leaders Taynuilt should be too strong for Aberdour although they only won by the odd goal in 7 when the sides met earlier in the season. Second placed Strachur are at home to Glasgow Mid Argyll and will be out to avenge a 2-1 defeat at Old Anniesland in March. Col Glen travel to the Beauly have forced their way in to the Marine Harvest North Division 3 title race with recent wins over the top two, The Students are on the road again as they travel to Spean Bridge to play Lochaber. Second placed Lochbroom travel to Cannich to play Strathglass. This match also throws up at 12 noon. Ardnamurchan have a rare home match against Lochcarron. |
