Scott MacMillan gave Oban Camanachd a first half lead in the Celtic Society Cup Final but Inveraray’s Chris Crawford leveled in the second half. A Gary MacPherson double put Inveraray 3-1 up and looked to have put his side in control. Their dominance seemed to have been reinforced when Oban Camanachd defender Liam MacIntyre was sent off for a second bookable defence. However Oban Camanachd might have been down but they certainly were not out. Scott MacMillan scored his and Oban’s second but try as they might, Camanachd could not level and Inveraray went on to regain the famous trophy. Brothers Graeme and Gary MacPherson have now equaled Kerr “Barney” Crawford’s record of amassing 11 winners medals each. Graeme won his previous 10 winners medals as a goalkeeper but has now won his record equaling 11th medal as an outfield player. Bryan Simpson saved Strathglass are through to the Balliemore Cup Final following their 5-2 win over Lovat at Cannich. It was third time lucky for the home side as they had lost to Lovat twice already this season. Lovat took an early lead when an attempted clearance rebounded into the net off Calum Macaulay. Robert Geddes equalised midway through the first half and Garry Reid converted a penalty on the stroke of half-time to give Strathglass a 2-1 interval lead. Robert Geddes scored again in the first minute of the second half and Strath’s fourth came from Darren Reid following a goal mouth scramble. Sean Stewart bagged a double and Connor Ross scored the other. Lochcarron remain bottom of the table. Kilmallie, Strathglass and Lovat can all go a point ahead of Skye in Marine Harvest North Division 1 should they win all their games in hand. Beauly and Kinlochshiel themselves can equal Skye’s points tally should they win their outstanding matches. The difficulty for these sides is that they will all likely take points off each other.
