The MacKay Cup North Semi Finalists Are Confirmed. | |
15 May 2009 The 2009 MacKay Cup is progressing and Reigning champions Portree beat Inverlochy 10-1 in the first round and they had a walk over against Tomnacross got past Caol in the first round and Ardnamurchan did likewise against St Marys. Both winners were due to meet in the second round but Ardnamurchan have been unable to fulfil the fixture so Tomnacross go through to face Portree in the first North semi final. The date for this match has not yet been set but it will likely be towards the end of next week. Lochaber beat Beauly 5-2 in the first round and they then knocked out Newtonmore who were first round winners over Glenurquhart. Kingussie got past Banavie and Strathpeffer and they will now face Lochaber in the second North semi final. This match will take place on Monday 18 May 2009. The North Final between Portree or Tomnacross and Lochaber or Kingussie will take place during the week beginning Monday 25 May 2009. In the South, Strachur had a convincing win over Park but they found Rockfield to be too strong so the Oban side are through to the final. The MacKay Cup Final will take at Mossfield, Oban on Saturday 30 May 2009 with a 12.30pm throw up.
