Sarah Corrigal from Skye posted a contender for women’s shinty individual performance of the season when she scored an incredible 10 goals for Glengarry in their 16-0 thumping of Forth in a lopsided National Division 1 clash on Sunday 10 May 2009.
Six other Garry girls also got their names on the scoresheet – Karen Cameron, Elaine Wink, Lauren Doherty, Beth MacDonald, Laura Mackay and Helen Nelson. The victory keeps Glengarry on course to retain their title and they have opened up a two-point lead over Tir Conaill Harps, whose derby fixture with Glasgow Mid-Argyll was postponed.
In midweek Badenoch & Strathspey stretched their advantage at the top of North Division 2 to four points following a 4-0 home win against Glengarry’s B team. Julie McWhirter scored twice and other goals came from Jeanette McGregor and Kirsty Deans.
In the same division the previous weekend Lochaber picked up their first points of the season, Kathleen Cameron hitting a hat-trick in their 3-0 home victory against Aberdeen University.
