29 April 2009 Skye Camanachd U14 B put in a creditable performance as they went down 2-0 against Kinlochshiel U14 in their Local League match at Kirkton on Wednesday 29 April 2009. Skye got off to the worst possible when they went down to an own goal in the opening minute. Things got worse after 5 minutes when Conal Fraser blasted the ball into the roof of net to give the home side a 2-0 lead. Shiel had most of the possession during the first half but Iain MacLeod in the Skye goal made some excellent saves to keep his side in the game. Skye performed better in the second half and Willie Cowie did well against the more experienced Donald Nixon when the Skye youngster moved to full centre. Iain MacPherson performed well when he came on as a substitute for the injured Angie MacPherson. The top Skye performance came from Iain MacLeod in goal. Defenders Liam Tough, Callum Gibb, Johnnie MacDonald and Ruairidh Morrison also performed well throughout as did young Scott MacLennan when he came off the bench. The islanders finished the match with primary school trio Willie Cowie and full centre, Andrew Grant at buckshee forward and Angie Grant at full forward. Kinlochshiel were well served by full back Seamus Laine, Donald Nixon and Oliver MacRae. Skye Camanachd from; Iain Macleod, Liam Tonagh, Callum Gibb, Johnnie Macdonald, Ruairidh Morrison, |
