Calum Duff Returns To Refereeing. | |
07 April 2009 Calum Duff has decided to return to shinty refereeing. Duff hung up his whistle in July 2008 following unacceptable levels of personal abuse directed towards him at an earlier MacAulay Cup semi-final clash between Newtonmore and Fort William at the Eilan - which the home side won 5-3 - was marred by two sending offs and a glut of unsavoury incidents and resulted in an investigation by shinty's Behaviour in Sport Committee. Duff had been appointed to referee the 2008 MacTavish Cup final and also officiated at the 2007 shinty / hurling international with Ireland and his return is a boost to the game. . |
