07 March 2009 Skye Camanachd made a great start to the season with a 4-0 win over Heavy rain in the Skye lost full back Steven Morrison 10 minutes into the second half when he took a nasty blow to the side. AB Connor came on in his place and the defence remained solid. Just 8 minutes later, captain Kenny Campbell sent a glorious drive into the top corner to make it 3-0. Murchison introduced Shockie MacLennan in place of Jamie MacDonald 20 minutes from the end and it was another substitute Alan Palmer who scored the fourth in injury time from a goal mouth scramble with almost his first touch. Speaking on Cuillin fm after the game, Skye Camanachd manager said that he would have taken any win in the first match of the season following a disrupted pre-season. He said that the Skye centre line was excellent throughout the game with Gilleasbuig MacDonald in tremendous form. Defender John Moir was also a top performer but the whole team showed great commitment.
